An emergency service out of hours is expensive to run. A large proportion of the emergencies that we currently see are pets that were ill earlier in the day, or previous days, and have subsequently worsened. We would advise that if your pet is unwell during the day that you arrange for it to be seen during surgery hours, rather than wait and see what happens and have to use the emergency service during the night.
